Page 15 Appendix C: Redstone Missile Articles Appearing In ARTILLERY TRENDS. Added an article appearing in ARTILLERY TRENDS - February 1960, Boost For The Spaceman.

Added a section US Army Artillery and Missile School Reorganized at the bottom of Page 5 CONUS Duty, with a link to the article about the reorganization appearing in the November 1960 edition of ARTILLERY TRENDS.

Added 2 photos sent to me by Art LeBrun of the launch preparations for Jupiter A Redstone research and development missiles RS-18 and RS-25 to the Slide Show Redstone Miscellaneous Folder Page 5.

Also, added the Department of the Army Field Manual FM 6-35 FIELD ARTILLERY MISSILE REDSTONE in PDF.The document can be accessed through the thumbnail image link at the top of Page 12 Appendix A: The Redstone Missile in Detail.

Added a video at the bottom of Page 16 Appendix D: Redstone Missile Videos showing scenes from Ron Smith's return trip to Bad Kreuznach and surrounding area in August 2009.

I plan on adding additional scenes and expanding this into a multi-part video in the near future.

Added 3 additional photos provided by Art LeBrun of the preparation of Mercury-Redstone MR-2 for the January 31, 1961 launch of Mercury-Redstone MR-2 to Slide Show Redstone Miscellaneous Folder Page 3. MR-2 suborbital flight carried the primate Ham the Chimpanzee.

One photo shows final preparation for the Mercury-Redstone MR-3 May 5, 1961 suborbital flight of USN LCDR Alan B. Shepard. The 2nd photo shows USAF Captain Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom at the Chrysler Corporation plant in with Mercury-Redstone MR-4.

On Page 15 Appendix C: at the end of Article No. 6 REDSTONE REORGANIZED I added a link to a .pdf of Special Orders Number 217, which was provided to me by Bob Chesebro who served in HQ Battery, 46th Artillery Group. This is the document that reorganized 46th Group into a Redstone Battalion.

I am still on the lookout for the comparible document issued by HQ 40th Artillery Group.

I am continuing to edit and reorganize the Slide Show, with the goal of combining underutilized Folders (Directories), and dividing others into more managable sizes, This will be an ongoing effort for a while.

I created a new Slide Show Folder called Redstone Tests and Derivatives, which will now house the photos of testing at Cape Canaveral, White Sands Missile Range, Johnston Island, and Woomera, Australia; and, includes Project Mercury-Redstone photos, Redstone Hardtack atomic tests photos, and Redstone WRESAT photos.

I next altered and scaled back the size of the existing Redstone Miscellaneous Folder.

Added a photo provided by Mike Parker of a Redstone training exercise conducted on Kuhberg, outside Bad Kreuznach, Germany in 1963 by Battery A, 1st Battalion, 333rd Artillery to the Slide Show Missile Operations Folder Page 4.

Also added two photos from Mike Parker to Slide Show Redstone Miscellaneous Folder Page 3 of troops from Battery B, 2nd Battalion, 333rd Artillery preparing Redstone Block II tactical missile CC-2008 for flight at Fort Wingate, New Mexico on 19 August 1963 as part of their Annual Service Practice firing.

Added an 85 page PDF of the October 1958 Chrysler Corporation Redstone and Jupiter Ballistic Missiles Manufacturing Facilities document. The document can be accessed via the thumbnail at the bottom of Page 14 Appendix B.

October 4, 2011: 50th anniversary of my original Rotation Date of October 4, 1961. Thanks to the Berlin Wall, I didn't quite make it. Missed it by 4 days. President Kennedy extended all personnel in Germany an additional four months as of October 1, 1961.
