Flying Tiger Line Lockheed Super Constellation

The type of aircraft that was forced to ditch in the North Atlantic Ocean on 23 September 1962 some 500 miles west of Shannon, Ireland due to loss of three engines, while on MATS Charter to ferry troops from McGuire AFB, New Jersey to Rhein Main AB, Frankfurt, Germany. There were 68 passengers and 8 crew members aboard. Of the 76 on board, there were 28 fatalities.
